Pupils to Enjoy the Arts

CHILDREN across the North East are showing their creative flair for the first national schools festival celebrating the talents of young people.

Shine is a programme of events, running until Friday, which will see youngsters taking part in activities that showcase their abilities across the arts, sport, music, drama and enterprise.

Schools taking part are Bedewell Primary School, in Hebburn, Jarrow Cross C Of E Primary School, in Jarrow, Simonside Primary, Prudhoe Community High School, in Northumberland, Archbishop Runcie First School in Gosforth, Newcastle, Wylam First School, Northumberland, Hadrian Special School, Gibside School, in Whickham, Walker Technology College, Newcastle, and Thornhill School, Sunderland.

They will be organising events ranging from a festival arts day, special assemblies, art displays, dance showcases and award ceremonies.
