United By Language

July 9, 2008

Bilingual pupils from eight Gloucestershire secondary schools had a fantastic time at this year’s citizenship day.

The event at Dean Close School, Cheltenham, brought 50 youngsters together to celebrate language, diversity, commonality, while helping to teach them how to support each other.

The pupils from Bishop’s College, Beaufort, Brockworth Enterprise, St Peters’, Churchdown, Christ College, Bournside and Pittville engaged in outdoor activities, drawing, and badge making.

Many also took part in Armenian Ballroom dancing, Chinese fan dancing, African Drumming and a selection of international football games.

The event was hosted by Dean Close, which provided a barbecue before the day ended with an ice-cream parlour enjoyed by everyone.
