School Helps Pupils ‘Thrive’ Say Inspectors
CHILDREN “thrive” at the special school that is St Peter and St Paul RC Primary in Erdington.
So say parents at the school – and it is a view shared by Government inspectors who say mums and dads rightly have a high opinion of the place.
Education watchdogs Ofsted describe the Kingsbury Road primary as a good school with “outstanding features”.
Inspectors said “it is easy to see why parents have such a high opinion of the school and why pupils enjoy school so much”.
They said the outstanding quality of care, guidance and support provided by all of the staff results in the pupils’ excellent personal development.
And they added that pupils quickly develop and consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour within lessons and around the school.
Pupils of all abilities also achieve well in their academic work and leave school with above average standards in core subjects.
Ofsted said the quality of teaching is good and, as a result, pupils learn well and are well prepared for the next stage of their education by the time they leave.
“The school’s own monitoring of teaching shows that there is some outstanding teaching, and this is undoubtedly so,” they added.
