Pass Rate Up By Six Per Cent

The overall five A* to C pass rate for GCSEs in Lincolnshire has increased by more than six per cent this year to an outstanding 72 per cent against a national increase of 2.4 per cent.

Five schools gained 100 per cent 5 A* to C. They were: The Priory LSST, Lincoln; Boston Grammar School; Caistor Grammar School; Kesteven and Grantham Girls', Grantham; and Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Horncastle.

Many schools had significant improvements against national estimates for the 5 A* to C pass rate and these included Joseph Ruston Technology College with a 98.7 per cent pass rate, the Giles School and Sixth Form in Old Leake at 88 per cent, Tennyson High School, Mablethorpe, with 81.8 per cent and the City of Lincoln Community College with 85.8 per cent. Education councillor Christine Talbot said: "The results bring great credit to Lincolnshire students and their schools."
