Slave Trade to Be Taught
A REVAMP of the national curriculum will see secondary school pupils learn about Britain’s involvement in the slave trade.
The abolition of slavery and how the trade was linked to the British Empire, are to be taught in schools.
The new history curriculum contains more emphasis on ethnic minority groups and their roles in British history.
The work of reformers such as abolitionist William Wilberforce will be covered.
