FCCJ professor to sit on Nassau board
A Florida Community College at Jacksonville math professor is the newest member of the Nassau County School Board.
Donna Martin, 52, defeated business owner Dave Mazur, 50, for the seat vacated by Janet Adkins, who won the primary election for District 12 state representative.
Martin said she is honored and excited to be a member of the School Board.
She said she will settle in and get to know the current School Board members before turning some attention to vocational opportunities at the Lewis “Red” Bean Nassau Technical Career Center.
Educating students and parents about those opportunities is one of Martin’s priorities, along with ensuring safe schools and quality teachers.
