ALLENTOWN, Pa., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Performance Learning Systems Inc. (PLS) and academic partner Wilkes University announced today that they now offer graduate education courses statewide in Pennsylvania.
"Wilkes University is a leader in providing teachers with innovative graduate and continuing education opportunities," said Michael Speziale, dean of College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Wilkes. "Our quality and results have allowed us to expand our graduate offerings nationwide, and we're happy to work with PLS to bring this program to teachers in western Pennsylvania."
"For nearly 40 years, PLS has sought to enhance the quality of K-12 education by improving teacher effectiveness with high-quality graduate courses offered through the best academic partners. With the expanded reach in Pennsylvania, Wilkes University provides PLS with new avenues for achieving these shared goals," said Neil Rose, CEO of Performance Learning Systems.
Since 1980, PLS and Wilkes University have partnered to help teachers in the eastern half of Pennsylvania to acquire the skills, strategies and knowledge to improve student learning. Now all educators across the state have the opportunity to experience graduate courses that have immediate applicability to the classroom and are backed by solid grounding in the research of the science of learning. Wilkes University will offer an off- campus master's program in Educational Development and Strategies, in which 12 credits of PLS courses are required.
Students who have recently completed graduate work at another accredited college or university may transfer up to six credits into a master's degree program at Wilkes University. Credits will be evaluated for where they fit within the curriculum of the program in which the student is admitted.
