The Kendall College School of Business Announces Chair, Vice-Chair of Newly Created Advisory Board

CHICAGO, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kendall College School of Business today announces that Tom Fitzgibbon, Executive Vice President of Chicago-based MB Financial Bank, has accepted the position of Chairperson to the School's newly created advisory board. Joining Mr. Fitzgibbons is Dr. Bruce Bloom, President and Chief Science Officer of Partnership for Cures, who has accepted the position of the board's Vice-Chairperson.

With nearly 40 years of experience in the banking industry, Mr. Fitzgibbon not only serves as Executive V.P. of the $8.3 billion MB Financial Bank, but he is also the President of MB Financial Community Development Corporation, a $4 million equity subsidiary of the bank he started in 1995. In addition, Mr. Fitzgibbon is President of the MB Charitable Foundation and Treasurer of both the federal and state Political Action Committees of the holding company. Fitzgibbon sits on the board of directors for MB Financial Bank and is a member of its Management Committee. He is also an adjunct Professor of Real Estate Finance at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Mr. Fitzgibbon is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Bloom brings more than 20 years of combined business and healthcare experience to the board with a career that has spanned law, dentistry, clinical research, insurance, entrepreneurial enterprises, regulatory affairs, product development, and public speaking. Currently, Dr. Bloom directs the operations of the public charity, Partnership for Cures, which is dedicated to making an impact on patients with cancer and other catastrophic diseases by finding and funding clinical medical research projects.

Dr. Bloom holds a Juris Doctor degree from Chicago Kent College of Law, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Illinois Medical Center, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of Illinois.

The Kendall College School of Business established the advisory board to enhance its services to students and the greater business community. Collectively, the 33 board members provide an industry perspective on the School's program development and its effectiveness in order to keep the curriculum relevant and distinct. Its mission is to transform students into globally conscious decision makers who are poised for future leadership positions within the services industries.
