Summit Educational Group Celebrates 10 Years in D.C. Area

ROCKVILLE, Md., July 18 /PRNewswire/ — Summit Educational Group, Inc., one of the region’s premier standardized test preparation and academic subject tutoring providers, today announced that the company is celebrating 10 years of providing personalized test preparation services to Maryland and Virginia high school students.

Founded by two Yale graduates in 1988, Summit pioneered the one-on-one, in-home tutoring concept, a component that remains at the core of the company’s business today. After experiencing rapid growth in its first location in Massachusetts, Summit introduced its one-on-one, in-home tutoring concept to the Greater Washington, D.C. region in 1995.

With the advent of changes to the SAT this spring, Summit developed materials and prepared students for the new essay section and other changes to the test. Summit students who took the new SAT have seen score increases of 200, 300, even 400 points.
