The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department now offers ATV safety education on the Internet, through ATVCourse.com. This online course, developed by Fresh Air Educators, Inc. features a narrated and interactive study guide, as well as visual exam and quiz questions. In North Dakota, all persons between the ages of 12 to 16 who do not have a valid driver’s license are required to have an OHV safety certificate to operate any ATV or Off Highway Vehicle on public land in the state.

Matthew Gardner, Education Coordinator for the NDPRD is excited about this new online course. “With the new online course option, young students will have a more interactive and dynamic learning experience, in the convenience of their own homes. We’ve customized the course curriculum with Fresh Air Educators to ensure that the course meets our exact needs, and we think students will love the narrations and interactive elements.”

The online ATV Safety Course and study guide provides students with information needed for safe and responsible operation of an ATV and other recreational vehicles. The course not only covers a wide range of general topics from basic operation to riding safety, but also includes information such as registration and licensing regulations specific to North Dakota.

“We commend North Dakota for offering their ATV safety education program in an online environment,” says Kerry Moher, V.P. of Business Development with Fresh Air Educators, Inc. “We’re thrilled to now provide students with the opportunity to obtain an ATV Safety Certificate online.”

In order to ensure a greater level of student participation and retention, the online ATV safety course is made to cater to all learning styles. The course and exam questions contain hundreds of detailed illustrations, as well as narrated course content and interactive exercises.

The North Dakota ATV safety course online has a one-time fee of $29.95, which includes the course, chapter quizzes and unlimited attempts at the final ATV safety certification exam for North Dakota. The course is also available to anyone as a free study guide. For more information on outdoor education courses provided by Fresh Air Educators, visit FreshAirEducators.com.
