Moriarty Holding Meeting On School Ratings Effect
For anyone interested in learning more about what Adequate Yearly Progress is and how the state’s recently released school ratings could affect children in the Moriarty area, the Moriarty school board is holding a public meeting today.
Moriarty school district assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction Mike Reese said the public meeting is required by federal law.
“Primarily what we’ll be doing is discussing what AYP is, school ratings and implications of those ratings and what it means for parents,” he said.
Reese said the board meeting will include a presentation on AYP and a question-and-answer session for audience members.
The Moriarty school board will meet at 6 tonight in the Moriarty High board room. This meeting is open to the public.
The Estancia school district will hold a similar meeting on Aug. 29. The Mountainair school district has not set a date yet.
