Edinburgh Business School Launches MBA Program in Spanish in the United States and Latin America

Posted on: Monday, 22 August 2005, 12:00 CDT

MIAMI, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Edinburgh Business School (EBS) of Heriot-Watt University, a Royal Charter University in Scotland, has launched the Spanish version of its highly successful MBA program. The business school continues its path as a pioneer in providing high-quality post-graduate education to students from 150 nations, most of which are either currently employed by Fortune 500 companies or go on to join them upon completing the program. Considered the top international distance MBA program worldwide (according to Financial Times), with more than 9,000 graduates and with an innovative and relevant curriculum that resulted from years of careful research at Stanford, the school affords working students the opportunity to obtain an MBA from a renowned institution with unparalleled flexibility. Students may work toward their degree at their own pace through distance learning, which includes full support comprised of a network of tutors and fellow students, or they may attend classes at the Edinburgh campus.

While distance MBA students work on their own from home and at their individual pace, exams are taken in person, adhering to the university's high educational standards. The university provides and guarantees examination facilities and professors at no more than three hours' drive from a student's home. "This level of convenience has never before been available to students in Latin America, hence, they were literally left out of the opportunity to obtain a post-graduate degree from good universities because of either distance or financial reasons. Our MBA program, including study materials and examination fees, is approximately US $14,000, making it even more obtainable," commented Daniel Pease, President of EBS Americas. "The level of response we experienced from U.S. Hispanics and Latin Americans with the English MBA was so great that the school decided to establish an Americas office in Miami. We are currently working at full speed reviewing applications and sending out study materials to places ranging from Texas, to Lima, to Bogota, among others," concluded Mr. Pease.
