BOSTON, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Entrepreneurial Management Institute (EMI) at Boston University School of Management, in conjunction with BU Global, is offering a new, four-month graduate diploma in Entrepreneurial Management beginning Fall 2005. The program, which teaches entrepreneurship from a global perspective, combines classroom learning with firsthand knowledge from successful entrepreneurs and local venture capitalists.
The Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Management has several unique characteristics. It:
* Involves students in EMI, one of the best ranked entrepreneurship institutes in the country. * Is located in Boston, the leading center for entrepreneurship on the East Coast, and, along with Silicon Valley, one of the two greatest hubs of innovation in the nation. * Immerses students in the highly diverse community of Boston University, which has one of the greatest numbers of international students of any school in the country and the most global student population in Boston. * Allows students to earn a diploma after four intensive months of study.
This new entrepreneurial program enables motivated students from around the world to recognize and assess opportunities, identify and attract resources and develop winning strategies for new or growing ventures. These skill sets are acquired through a rigorous integrated curriculum, interaction with the EMI faculty and the development and execution of business plans. Lessons are also complemented by guest lectures from successful venture capitalists and entrepreneurs and site visits to leading companies, such as EMC and Genzyme.
At a time when both large and small companies face an increasingly global environment, this program prepares entrepreneurs to deal with the opportunities and threats of globalization. After earning their diploma, students are also eligible to pursue an internship in one of Boston's leading high-tech, biotechnology, financial, or start-up industries for up to one year.
