Horipro Forms Capital Tie-Up With Japan Int'L Education Center

Aug. 23--TOKYO -- Horipro Inc., a film and television talent management company in Tokyo, said Tuesday it has agreed with Japan International Education Center on a capital alliance to develop educational services.
Horipro said it will purchase new JIEC shares worth 23.75 million yen to acquire a 20 percent stake in the English education service provider at the end of this month. It has an option to boost the stake to 49 percent between September 2007 and August 2010.
Horipro said the two companies will promote JIEC's education philosophy, co-develop English education curricula and provide English education services for film and TV talent.
