Ward Thrasher Named Assistant Dean of Business School at University of Bridgeport

Ward Thrasher has been named assistant dean of the School of Business at the University of Bridgeport (UB).
Thrasher started his teaching career at UB as an adjunct professor in computer applications and information systems and accounting in the fall of 2003. A year later, he was reappointed as a full-time visiting assistant professor for the academic year of 2004-2005.
Within a short period of time, his outstanding teaching performance won respect and recognition from both undergraduate and MBA students in the School of Business. At the end of January 2005, Dr. Thrasher took over the responsibility of advising new and current MBA students as interim MBA director. He quickly bat an excellent reputation among MBA students as a considerate and conscientious advisor who always puts student interests as the top priority.
Thrasher had accumulated extensive professional/consulting experience in the areas of information technology and accounting before he joined UB's faculty. He was the attorney and founder of Business and Legal Consulting, where he served as the chief operating officer and account executive, with clients including GE Investments, BancBoston Capital, Affiliated Managers Group and Freedom Capital.
Later, Thrasher worked for Positive impact Corp. as senior consultant and chief operating officer. He then founded Thrasher Tech, a technological consulting firm that designs, configures, installs and supports LAN/WA and other computerbased communication and data-sharing solutions with appropriate security measures incorporated. Since March 2004, Dr. Thrasher has been a senior consultant at DigiTech LLC.
Thrasher has a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from University School of Law (formerly University of Bridgeport School of Law) and a Bachelor of Science degree in international business administration from the University of Bridgeport. He also studied at Ohio State University (electrical engineering), Case Western Reserve University (chemical engineering) and Berklee College of Music (audio engineering).
He is currently enrolled in the University of Maryland's dual Master of Science degree in information technology and accounting program, which will ultimately lead to a Ph.D. degree in management information systems.
