Pre-School Teachers Acknowledged for Their Contribution
SUMMIT International College recently acknowledged its teachers of pre- schools, kindergartens, Montessori schools and nurseries for their dedication and contribution to society during an appreciation day.
“We wanted to thank all early childhood educators in Malaysia for their contribution to society,” said Lydia Foong, Summit International College principal.
She said that early childhood educators are rarely appreciated, even though their work as teachers and care-givers is not an easy one.
“Besides, the children we care for are also too young to organise concerts and events to thank their teachers, unlike those from primary and secondary schools,” she said.
“Because of that, most early childhood educators are not given the full appreciation they deserve.”
Three hundred participants from around Peninsular Malaysia made up the crowd. Winnie Yip of Tadika Adewin, from Kelantan, said that it was worth making the long trip to be part of the event, which included inspiring and motivational workshops by specialists in the field who gave insights into the newest developments in childcare.
