Leo Linbeck III has been appointed to the faculty at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Leo, a native Houstonian, received his MBA from Stanford where he graduated as a Henry Ford Scholar (Valedictorian) and received the prestigious Arbuckle Award from his classmates.
Linbeck has been a guest presenter at Stanford since 1994, presenting 2 or 3 case studies a year. In his new position as Lecturer, he will offer a course on the strategies and practices of family businesses. Leo is also in his 4th year of teaching at Rice University's Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management where he offers a popular entrepreneurship class on managing growth. He has guest lectured at several other graduate schools including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Texas at Dallas and Southern Methodist University.
Stanford and Linbeck were able to work out an arrangement that does not require him to relocate to the Bay Area. This aspect was critical, as Leo will continue to serve as President and CEO of Aquinas Corporation (Linbeck Group's parent) and teach at the Jones School.
According to Linbeck, "I am honored to be joining the faculty at the GSB. I am also grateful to the GSB for being flexible enough to accommodate my schedule thus allowing me to offer the course while maintaining my ongoing family, community and work commitments."
