Bonny Eagle Seeks Volunteers for Accreditation Self-Study

Bonny Eagle High School Principal Sheila Jepson has invited parents and community members to assist in a self-study, being conducted by the school’s staff to achieve accreditation for the school.

The study is a large component in the evaluation process of the Commission on Public Secondary Schools for the accreditation of the school by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Jepson noted that all aspects of the school will be evaluated during the self-study.

Volunteers are most needed to serve on committees evaluating student learning in the areas of mission and expectations; curriculum; instruction; assessment; leadership and organization; school resources; and community resources.

The association is a voluntary membership organization of about 1,850 public schools, colleges and universities, independent schools, and vocational/technical and career institutions. Some 650 public schools throughout New England are accredited through the commission, which works with schools to improve the quality of their programs, at all levels, through a process of self-study, evaluation and follow-up activities.
