More than 90 percent of the Jefferson Parish Public Schools are able to reopen Monday, Oct. 3, but the number of schools that actually open will depend on how many students the district has enrolled, school officials said.
School employees reported to work Sept. 21 and were attempting to contact students wot see who will be returning.
Superintendent Diane Rouseel released procedures for staff and parents on the JPPSS Web site at www.jppss.k12.la.us. She said the district is prepared for the challenges the district will face with the reopening of the schools.
We will do whatever it takes, Roussel said. In every challenge, there is great opportunity. We will seize the opportunity. Take care of yourselves and each other.
Only six of the 86 schools listed were not eligible to reopen on Oct. 3 because of repairs.
