Main findings of the latest Ofsted report:

This is a highly effective school where childhood is treasured and enjoyed by adults and children alike. All young children are valued as individuals and are able to access a wonderful range of exciting learning opportunities. Learning is fun and standards are good. Teaching overall is very good and the headteacher provides excellent leadership.

Describe the school’s ethos and values?

Children are highly valued. The school has excellent community links and has a community room attached. Our mission statement is “we care”.

What are the school’s main strengths?

Our community links; rich learning environment; good ethos; children with special education needs are well catered for.

What areas is the school trying to improve?

Outdoor provision.

What extra-curricular activities and out-of-school provision does the school have?

Developing wrap-around care.

How does the school get involved in the community?

We have regular church visits and events such as the donation of food for harvest festival. We are used as a venue for toddler and childminder groups.

What are the school’s proudest achievements?

We fought closure in 2003 and managed to stay open with support from parents and the community.
