Oct. 18--Cal State Fullerton has enrolled 35,040 students this year, making it the most populous in the 23-campus California State University system, officials said.
The figure is based on a head count of students, many of whom attend the school part time.
Fullerton, Long Beach and San Diego are in the top three in terms of CSU enrollment. This year, Fullerton's satellite Irvine campus at the former El Toro Marine Base added 3,000 students to those attending in Fullerton.
"It's a good feeling to know there are so many students who want to come to our university," Cal State Fullerton President Milton A. Gordon said.
