TPS Board Approves Staff Pay Raises
By Tulsa World, Okla.
Oct. 21–The Tulsa school board approved salary increases for support workers and administrators at a meeting this week.
The raises for support workers and administrators are comparable to the 5 percent teachers received when the board approved their new contract last month, said Bill Naftzger, chief human resources officer for Tulsa Public Schools.
A new contract for support workers will increase the total cost of their salaries by $1.7 million.
Support workers at the top of the district’s pay scale will receive a one-time stipend of 4 percent.
Administrators and other employees who are not covered by collective-bargaining agreements with the district will receive raises that will cost an additional $598,000.
Employees in that category at the top of the district’s pay scale will receive a one-time stipend of 2 percent.
Individual salary increases for those administrators and other non-negotiated employees range from $1,170 to $9,100, Naftzger said.
