The UBS Foundation USA awarded the Children’s Museum of Maine a $10,000 grant to create Stage Stories with pupils at three local elementary schools. The project is an extension of a pilot program launched this fall.

Stage Stories are based on classic children’s tales or nursery rhymes and provide an interactive experience blending literature, reading and dramatic play. Through the Stage Stories project, the museum hopes to stimulate interest in reading, writing, literature and storytelling while supporting the development of communication skills in young learners. Stage Stories will also encourage teamwork and cooperation and bring educational opportunities to underserved students in Portland.
