DC Teachers, Parents, Students and Non-Profits Urge the DC City Council to Pass the School Modernization Financing Act of 2005

WASHINGTON, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at noon, on the steps of the Wilson Building, DC public school parents, teachers, students, school staff and activists will gather to urge the City Council to pass Councilmember Kathy Patterson's School Modernization Financing Act. This legislation will finance the reconstruction, renovation and emergency maintenance of DC public school facilities. This bill will address our school system's under funded long-term capital improvement plan and the many critical needs of our schools, which are in serious disrepair.
