Dr. Dennis Ulrich Named Dean of the New Office of Community Continuing Education at Cuyahoga Community College

HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Cuyahoga Community College has named Dr. Dennis Ulrich Dean of Community Continuing Education, a new college-wide office that will provide credit and non-credit personal growth and enrichment classes to citizens of Northeast Ohio. In addition to providing credit and non-credit classes for personal enrichment and growth, the Office for Community Continuing Education will also offer a wide-range of unique programming. Among these offerings will be "Tri-C for Kids," a three week summer education program for children in grades one through three and grades four through seven where they can begin to learn skills such as first aid, Spanish, art or math. The office will also offer certifications for jobs such as personal trainers and commercial drivers. In his new position, Ulrich will be based at the College's Eastern Campus in Highland Hills.
Ulrich previously managed many areas of the Workforce and Economic Development Division of Tri-C, including business and professions programs, the Center for Applied Gerontology, the Police and Fire Academies, the Institute for Banking, Finance and Insurance, and the Center for Health Industry Solutions. He has also worked on Tri-C's Corporate College initiative.
Before he came to Tri-C, Ulrich worked at Kent State University as Director of the Center for Executive Education and Development in the Graduate School of Management and College of Continuing Studies. He had earlier served as the Director of Technical Training and Workforce Development in the University's Regional Campus System.
Ulrich was a co-founder of the Ohio Award for Excellence, a statewide, not-for-profit, Baldrige-based quality program. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the program, now known as the Ohio Partnership for Excellence. He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in History of Science and Technology at Miami University. His baccalaureate degree was in secondary education and history.
