95 pct technical school graduates find jobs from 2001 to 2005
BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The average employment rate among technical school graduates reached 95 percent during the 10th five- year-plan (2001 to 2005), according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MLSS).
More than 17 million Chinese received technical training or vocational training from 2001 to 2005, a MLSS official said.
"China has established a five-class vocational qualification mechanism during the 10th five-year-plan with more efforts made in administration and technical support to vocational training," according to the MLSS.
From 2001 to 2005, more investment was injected in on-the-job training programs and a technical training network was set up for rural laborers, the MLSS said.
"More needs to be done to perfect the training system with training fees jointly provided by the government, enterprises and individual trainees in the future," the MLSS official said.
"Meanwhile, subsidies will be provided for laid-off workers and rural laborers who join in the vocational training program," he said.
