First-Class Education Now Available to All; Advertising Feature Birkenhead High School

Posted on: Wednesday, 25 January 2006, 12:00 CST

A FIRST-CLASS education, strong values and an accessible location - Birkenhead High School is one of the leading all girls' schools in the area.

With exceptional examination results, the school, located in Oxton, Birkenhead, is just minutes from Liverpool city centre, the Mersey Tunnels and the M53, and offers an excellent all-round education for girls aged from two to 18 years.

Students travel from all parts of Wirral, South Cheshire and Liverpool to Birkenhead High School, which is part of the Girls' Day School Trust, and new bus routes from south Liverpool and Chester now make the school more accessible than ever.

Headmistress Carole Evans welcomes girls from Liverpool and Chester who are keen to be part of the warm and supportive Birkenhead High School community. She said: "With safe, subsidised transport we are now a real choice for students who live outside our traditional Wirral area. Our flexible programme means that all our students have real opportunities to take part in an exciting range of extra-curricular activities."

A century of tradition, coupled with vision, a commitment to the arts, sport and community involvement mean students acquire the life skills and confidence that will enable them to succeed in future years.

There are excellent facilities throughout the school including a swimming pool, all-weather pitches, a drama studio and libraries. Students are encouraged to take part in school productions, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Young Enterprise Scheme, and to take an interest in the wider world beyond the school. Birkenhead High School is now recruiting for September 2006 and 2007, and the annual entrance examination for pupils hoping to join the senior school in year 7 in September 2006 takes place on Saturday, January 28.

Full details are now available from the school's admissions secretary on 0151 652 5777.

Visits to the junior department and sixth form can be arranged by appointment.
