The School Board expelled two high school students whom police arrested last month on charges of burglary and theft at Cape Elizabeth Middle School.
The board’s decision this week means that the two juniors can’t return to school for the rest of the school year. The board can readmit the students next year, but the decision hin- ges on whether the teenagers follow a plan created by school administrators, Superintendent Alan Hawkins said.
Police have said the two teens entered the school early on the morning of Dec. 4. They pried opened lockers, rifled through classrooms and stole a number of items, including musical instruments and a laptop computer.
