Three More Schools in Orleans Parish to Reopen April 18

Three more schools in Orleans Parish will reopen April 18 through the state Department of Education's Recovery School District.Joseph A. Craig and Benjamin Banneker Elementary Schools will each house about 400 students in grades kindergarten through eighth, and Joseph S. Clark Senior High School will house about 500 students, grades nine through 12.Registration for the three schools will begin March 29. Parents who want to enroll their students at any of the three schools can visit Craig Elementary, 1423 St. Phillip St., and Banneker Elementary, 421 Burdette St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29 through March 31; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 1; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from April 3 until the school reopens.For more information, visit www.louisianaschools.net or call (877) 453-2721.Currently there are 20 public schools open in Orleans Parish, with another slated to reopen on March 31.
