May 12--The University of Texas System Board of Regents on Thursday approved a new doctoral program in marketing for the University of Texas at San Antonio, and gave the university the green light to plan for other new programs.
The marketing Ph.D will be offered as an emphasis within the Business Administration doctorate and is designed to address faculty shortages.
Regents also approved preliminary planning for Ph.Ds in Musical Arts in Performance and Pedagogy, Choral Conducting, Child Development, Public Administration and Social Service Professions, as well as a master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning.
The programs will go to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for final approval.
