COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio Education Association (OEA) Fund for Children and Public Education (OEA-FCPE) recently announced its recommendations for the November 2006 statewide elections. The candidates recommended by the OEA-FCPE are: for Attorney General, Marc Dann; for Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner; and for Treasurer, Richard Cordray. Judge William O'Neil and former State Senator Ben Espy were recommended for two positions on the Ohio Supreme Court. Earlier this year the OEA-FCPE recommended Ted Strickland for Governor.
The OEA-FCPE also recommended the candidacy of Sherrod Brown for the U.S. Senate.
"These candidates have demonstrated support of public education to better the future for Ohio's children," says OEA President Gary Allen. "Ohio citizens will be well served by these recommended candidates, based upon their records and support of public education issues."
The OEA-FCPE carefully screens candidates based on their support of public education and OEA priority issues.
The Ohio Education Association represents 130,000 teachers, faculty members and support professionals in Ohio's public schools, colleges and universities.
