Wainwright Students Honor Organizer of Running Club

Jun. 28--Wainwright Elementary School students in Fircrest recently honored Alice Uyeda at an assembly for organizing the school Running Club for 15 years and the Wildcat Dash.
Kids participate in the running club during recess three days a week. Students who run a cumulative 10 miles get to participate in the Wildcat Dash, a mile run around Fircrest Park, complete with a police escort.
The top three male and female runners in first through fifth grades are recognized in an assembly.
