Peter F. McAteer Named Vice President and Managing Director of Harvard Business School Publishing Corporate Learning

Former CLO of United Nations Development Programme to Lead Next Phase of Growth for HBSP Corporate Learning
Peter F. McAteer has been named Vice President and Managing Director of Corporate Learning at Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP). In this role, he is responsible for expanding the reach and impact of the HBSP Corporate Learning business in a core growth market for the company. Under McAteer's leadership, HBSP Corporate Learning will develop new products and services; bring a dedicated new focus to the learning needs of the healthcare, government, and social enterprise sectors; establish strategic partnerships with professional associations; and expand its collaboration with Harvard Business School's Executive Education to cascade management development across multiple levels within organizations. McAteer will also bring his considerable international experience to bear on expanding HBSP's reach into corporate learning markets outside of the U.S., which is a critical aspect of Harvard Business School Publishing's growth strategy.
Since 2002, Peter McAteer had been Chief Learning Officer and Director of the Learning Resources Center for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). At the UNDP, McAteer directed global assessment, leadership, technical, professional and learning development services, covering 30 service lines in 169 countries. He developed and expanded partnerships with learning institutions and consulting firms, including Harvard University, Columbia University, the London School of Economics, the London Business School, ESADE, Hautes Etudes Commerciales School of Management, and numerous government organizations, among many others. McAteer introduced a new "design lab" process for design and development of learning content in multiple languages, expanded by 300% on-line enrollment for the Virtual Development Academy and launched the new VDA "World Campus" for governments and partnership institutions. He also managed the selection of course design and teaching faculty from Latin America and Caribbean areas, Africa, Arab states, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.
Prior to joining the UNDP, McAteer was Vice President of Giga Information Group in Cambridge, MA (now Forrester Research). He was also responsible for oversight of consulting, research, and executive education activities for HR ePractices at Giga, involving more than 100 companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. He developed new products including specialized conferences, regional network workshops, audio and video conferences and on-line streaming video programs. Most recently he managed the development of five human capital best-practice research studies for publication under the Reuters Business Insight Brand.
McAteer has also been Vice President of Leadership, Learning, & Organizational Development at Fidelity Investments in Boston, and Director of Consulting Services at Development Systems, Inc., in Wellesley.
