Career Education Corporation Announces Winners of 2006 Educator of the Year Award

Posted on: Monday, 31 July 2006, 18:00 CDT

Career Education Corporation (NASDAQ:CECO) announced today the recipients of the company's sixth annual Educator of the Year award. Eight faculty members, representing various disciplines across CEC schools, were honored with the highest award given by CEC.

Finalists were selected based on an application evaluating four areas: engaging students, quality teaching and learning, monitoring student progress and leadership. Outside experts judged and selected the winners. Previously, only one winner was selected from the finalists, but the award was expanded to honor the very best faculty in each of the eight areas: business, computer design, culinary, design, general education, health, online and technology.

"There were many outstanding candidates for this year's award. We are fortunate to have such a broad group of skilled and dedicated educators across all of our schools," said Patricia Kapper, Ed.D, senior vice president of education for Career Education Corporation. "The 2006 award winners truly stood out, even among a group of consistently excellent educators. Their enthusiasm in the classroom, teaching effectiveness and inspiration to our students placed them among the best."
