Concordia University Establishes Second-Largest Business College Among State's Private Universities

Concordia University, St. Paul has combined all of its business degree programs into a single unit, establishing the College of Business and Organizational Leadership (CBOL). The move combines the best of traditional business degree programs with the speed of accelerated degree-completion, a concept founded at Concordia in 1986. The new business college will serve the flexible needs of the next generation of business students at both the undergraduate and graduate degree levels, preparing them to take their place as leaders in the business community. Based on the most recent report from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education on the number of bachelor's and master's degrees awarded, Concordia had the second highest number of graduates in business, management and marketing among all Minnesota private colleges and universities.
Concordia University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLCNCA) with additional accreditation for the BBA program by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Concordia has offered business education and degrees for more than 20 years; CBOL brings together all of the professional and educational experience into a single organization to provide practical and relevant business education. Coursework is focused on applied learning for students, bringing theory into real world environments.

With a comprehensive list of business degree majors, students are able to achieve Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Master of Arts degrees in programs including:

Organizational Management and Communication
The new college numbers nearly 900 students, more than 170 of whom are master's degree candidates. In the 2005-2006 academic year there were 443 graduates of degree programs now included in the business college. In addition, CBOL has 28 full-time faculty members and an adjunct faculty of more than 75 business professionals with experience in education, criminal justice, law, finance, economics, management, human resources, information technology, marketing, divinity and more.
The latest technology advances have been incorporated on campus, offering full wireless connectivity throughout the University campus, distance-learning over the Web and 24-hour online access to resources such as research, the library and student/faculty communication.
Concordia University has an advantageous campus location in an urban neighborhood next to downtown St. Paul. The central location is easily accessible via public transportation and gives a diverse student population easy access to both downtown as well as local events and venues. The city of St. Paul has numerous activities, events, arts, music, parks, recreation and more for students' education and leisure. The 36-acre campus has traditional classrooms, a new theater and music building, new library and technology center, science building and living facilities. Numerous activities and organizations are available to all students.
