Maric College - North County to Hold Graduation for 288 Students Friday

Maric College -- North County will host a graduation ceremony for 288 students Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the San Luis Rey Serra Center at 4070 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, Calif. Mayor Morris Vance of Vista, Calif., and Mayor Jim Wood of Oceanside, Calif., will keynote the ceremony.
Students will be recognized for earning associate's degrees and diplomas in 13 programs including allied health, paralegal studies and criminal justice. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level jobs in their field of study, many of which are in high demand throughout the state. According to the California Employment Development Department, Labor Market Information Division report on California Occupational Employment Projections, 2006, medical assistant positions are expected to increase by 35.7 percent, registered vocational nursing by 20.9 percent, massage therapist by 21.4 percent, paralegal by 28.5 percent and pharmacy technician by 26.4 percent from 2004 to 2014.

Maric College offers the Vocational Nursing program at three locations, including North Hollywood, San Diego and North County -- Vista to help address the state and nationwide nursing shortage. Upon graduation, vocational nursing students may be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Vocational Nurses (NCLEX-VN).
Maric College -- North County is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). ACCSCT is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. The campus currently offers associate's degrees and diplomas in 12 programs.
