Public Sector: Schools Group in Disney Dance Bid
The National Schools Partnership has teamed up with Disney to encourage primary school children to choose dancing in their PE lessons.
Based around Disney’s High School Musical film, the agency is promoting resource packs created to urge youngsters to swap ‘running for routines’.
Written by teachers and choreographers, the packs have been made available free of charge to the first 1,500 schools that request one. The packs contain a DVD, lesson plans and step-by-step guides for three dances in the film.
A spokesman said: ‘The success of this film is a gift for teachers and shows how popular culture can really enhance the curriculum and make learning more fun.’
