Georgia College Moves Up on Best-Value List

Jan. 15–Georgia College & State University moved up considerably this year on Kiplinger’s list of 100 Best Values in Public Colleges.
The university ranked 79th best value, with a total cost of $12,340 per year. Total cost includes tuition, mandatory fees, room and board and estimated expenses for books, according to the Kiplinger Web site, www.kiplinger.com [http://www.kiplinger.com].
In 2006, Georgia College ranked 92nd.
The list, which only looked at public, four-year universities, was based on a college’s academic quality, cost and financial aid.
The University of Georgia (No. 10) and Georgia Tech (No. 13) were the only other two Georgia schools to the make the list.
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill came in at No. 1, with a total cost of $13,584.
