TESOL Programme at Brickfields Asia College
TEACHING English is increasingly gaining popularity as a stable and in-demand career in Malaysia.
Like any other profession, teaching needs specific skills which require knowledge of learning methodologies and educational psychology.
These programmes offer new teachers the benefit of a structured theoretical framework critical to effective teaching.
Teachers will find the programme a useful refresher or part of a continuing development plan to update themselves on the latest teaching theories and techniques.
In addition, there is the opportunity to gain a Professional Teaching Certification as the Diploma in TESOL includes a 30-hour supervised Teaching Practise component.
CIDTT meets the rigorous academic standards of Cambridge University and the TESOL Diploma is accredited by IATQI (International Association of TESOL Qualifying Associations) and IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language).
This ensures that the course structure, materials and delivery meet internationally accepted standards.
"Students on the TESOL programme are equipped with theoretical and practical teaching skills that can be used with young children, teenagers or adult language learners. Our focus is to ensure that anybody who graduates with the TESOL Diploma can immediately start teaching confidently," said Master Trainer Anushia Senthe.
Ten groups of students have completed the course at Brickfields Asia College, and the college is extremely proud of the 100 per cent pass rate with a high number of distinctions.
Buoyed by the success of TESOL and CIDTT, Brickfields Asia College intends to introduce a complete teacher-training programmes.
Chief operating officer Aria Singham says, "We are committed to teacher training and are going to launch a B.A in English, Diploma in Teaching Business English and Diploma in Montessori Education this year."
