Haircut Teacher Sacked

A TEACHER at one of Britain's most prestigious public schools has been sacked for cutting a boy's hair - without his permission - in the middle of a lesson.

Maria Garcia-Salguero, a Spanish teacher at 600-year-old Winchester College, was dismissed after an investigation.

The school has refused to identify the boy, or discuss the exact circumstances of the case. It said: 'After due disciplinary process, the school has dismissed a female member of staff for gross misconduct.' Ms Garcia-Salguero, 52, who was president of the school's Spanish Society, declined to say anything last night when she arrived home at her bungalow in King's Worthy, Hampshire.

A source at the Pounds 25,000a-year school claimed that Ms Garcia had a reputation for being 'volatile' and was 'frequently in trouble within her department'.
