BusinessWeek Ranks Boston University Undergraduate Business Program Among Top 13 in U.S. For Academic Quality

BOSTON, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- In BusinessWeek's second annual ranking of undergraduate business programs, Boston University School of Management is listed among the top 13 in the nation based on Academic Quality. This is an increase of two places from last year's ranking of 15.
To determine Academic Quality, BusinessWeek considered five equally weighted measures: average SAT scores, ratio of full-time faculty to students, average class size, the percentage of business majors with internships, and the hours students spend every week on schoolwork.
Overall, the School was ranked 37th in the nation, placing it among the top two percent of the 1614 business schools in the United States.
"While rankings such as this serve as a guide, they are not a particularly good way to judge the overall quality of a School," said Louis E. Lataif, Dean, Boston University School of Management. "To properly evaluate a school's program, interested students are best advised to visit the institution, meet with faculty and students, sit in on classes, and talk with the support staff. This due diligence provides a much better basis for assessing the 'fit' of a school for each student."
