Students Match Grant With Work for Refuge
April 25, 2007
PRESQUE ISLE – A federal grant of $8,000 awarded to the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge has been matched with practical work by members of a class on interpreting the environment.
The students developed four different trails at the refuge, and all four were combined into a driving trail. The project was worth 40 percent of their grade.
Grant funds are earmarked for construction costs associated with the student trails and were awarded through the National Wildlife Refuge System, Region 5.
