Posted on: Tuesday, 1 May 2007, 15:00 CDT

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is proud to announce that the College's Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program has received full Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the maximum five year period accorded new programs. The accreditation was granted with "no compliance concerns" which means the program was determined by the Commission to be in full compliance with all the accreditation standards.

"It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the School of Nursing on this important recognition," said MCPHS President Charles F. Monahan Jr. "Our superb faculty, state-of-the-art facilities and innovative programs are preparing the health care leaders of tomorrow across New England."

"This accreditation truly is an affirmation of our students, faculty, staff and clinical partners," said Janis P. Bellack, Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost, and Interim Dean, School of Nursing. "What we learned during the accreditation process will help us continue to deliver the highest quality education to our students."

The College offers a 16-month accelerated post-baccalaureate BSN program on the Worcester campus, which will graduate its first class this month, and a 32-month accelerated BSN program on the Boston campus, which will graduate its first class in May 2008. A 16-month post- post-baccalaureate BSN program will be launched in Manchester in September 2007.
