Agilix Partners With Epic Learning to Deliver Comprehensive Learning Management Solution

Posted on: Monday, 25 June 2007, 09:05 CDT

Today at the National Educational Computing Conference, Agilix Labs, Inc., a worldwide leader in e-learning solutions, announced that it has developed an innovative e-learning application for Epic Learning. The Epic Learning System, powered by Agilix's GoCourse™ platform, is an integrated learning management solution for high schools that enhances the power of 1:1 computing initiatives, increasing on-time graduation and college readiness.

Epic Learning has an aligned instruction system that integrates rigorous core curriculum, a comprehensive assessment system and an advanced electronic delivery system. Its courses provide high schools with core curriculum and are designed to meet all state and national standards. As part of the Epic Learning solution, students at participating schools receive a laptop pre-loaded with Agilix e-learning software and Epic Learning curriculum, so they can access lessons and complete assignments anytime, anywhere, without an Internet connection.

"Epic is designed to be a powerful addition to course instruction," said Rod Paige, former U.S. Secretary of Education. "Epic eliminates the digital divide and provides equal access to information, knowledge and opportunity."

Instructors integrate the Epic Learning System into the classroom as a teaching tool and monitor students' performance through a graphical "dashboard." This greatly reduces class preparation and grading time, allowing teachers more time to motivate and coach their students. The GoCourse Learning System enables Epic Learning to link baseline academic diagnostics to its ongoing progress monitoring system, promoting continuous curriculum improvement.

"By combining GoCourse with the Epic Learning curriculum, and a fully functional laptop that students can take home, Epic Learning has created the solution that is poised to make an immediate impact," said Curt Allen, President and CEO of Agilix. "They have already seen dramatic results from the pilots held this year. At school districts utilizing the Epic Learning System, students are performing better and teachers are reducing class preparation time by 85% and test grading time by 90%."

"Agilix has done an exceptional job building the software to power our Epic Learning System," said Vernon Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of Epic Learning. "Working together with Agilix, we hope to deliver an integrated solution that will completely transform high schools and the future of America."

The GoCourse Learning System is a next-generation instructional management platform that enables institutions to link academic initiatives to student performance. The solution is designed for performance-focused schools and districts that are committed to enhancing student achievement and enabling teacher effectiveness. GoCourse enables work to continue both online and offline, and empowers teachers to engage and excite students with an innovative and personalized approach to learning.
