By Jean-Paul Renaud, South Florida Sun-Sentinel May 30--It was a mistake to have students sign academic contracts and then threaten them with expulsion if they didn't earn passing grades, the Broward County School Board was told Tuesday.

Students at O.A.S.I.S. High School Preparatory Academy have exceeded all writing skills expectations--and have the scores to prove it.
