KUAT Schedule Faces Some Disruption Today

Over-the-air broadcasts of KUAT’s Channel 6 and classical FM station will be interrupted for most of the day today due to damage from Saturday’s storm. Satellite and Comcast subscribers will be affected as well.

Lightning struck KUAT’s tower on Mount Bigelow in the Santa Catalina Mountains, destroying the antenna for KUAT’s digital channel 30.

Today, tower crews will work to repair the antenna, resulting in the outage, which will begin at 5 a.m.

Cox Cable service will not be interrupted. KUAT’s Channel 27 will continue without interruption as well.
