The featured technology, listed as Lot 129 in the online auction catalog, can be viewed at www.icappatentbrokerage.com/forsale. This lot discloses a musical synthesizer with a gesture synthesizer that modifies musical gestures. Gesture Synthesis was invented for imparting a sense of natural nuance to user interaction with electronically produced sounds. In today’s marketplace, personal computers have evolved into handheld devices with graphical user interfaces that include physical modeling of user interactions with objects. This produces a realistic visual effect that is similar to the aural effect produced by Gesture Synthesis. The proliferation of these devices has made apparent what the patent discloses, that audio software applications can be developed that enhance the user experience of naturalness by simulating flexion responsive to the user’s input gestures. Electronic musical instruments, toys, games and various other audio apps can all potentially benefit from the inclusion of the disclosed methods.

Forward citing companies include Google, Sony, Yamaha, and Realtime Music Solution.

Dean Becker, ICAP Patent Brokerage and ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions CEO, commented, “Our Fall 2011 Auction will be our biggest yet, featuring more than 140 lots. Technology, like that disclosed by this lot, represents some of the best innovation in the industry. We are very excited to be able to offer this to the worldwide market.”
