‘Desperate Housewives’ Cast, ‘Raising Hope’s’ Martha Plimpton, ‘Suburgatory’s’ Ana Gasteyer Join B&C’s Nov. 15 ‘Women of Hollywood’ Event
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Desperate Housewives stars Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Vanessa Williams have joined the dais of Broadcasting & Cable magazine’s 2nd annual, off-the-record gathering, “Keynotes & Cocktails: Women of Hollywood,” Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011. The event for women of the TV, media and entertainment industry, runs 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Entertainment Tonight co-anchor Nancy O’Dell will serve as the featured moderator of the discussion, “Desperate Housewives: The Final Season.”
Film, TV and stage star Martha Plimpton, who was nominated for an Emmy this year for her starring role on FOX’s Raising Hope, and former SNL star Ana Gasteyer, currently appearing on ABC’s Suburgatory, will be featured on a panel discussion entitled “Women of Comedy.” ET‘s O’Dell also will moderate this panel.
The “Women of Hollywood” program also features a roundtable of some of the most powerful women from behind the scenes in TV, media and entertainment in the discussion “Keys to Confidence.” This roundtable’s panelists are Dana Walden, chairman of 20th Century Fox Television; Jennifer Salke, president, NBC Entertainment; Sue Naegle, president, HBO Entertainment; and Katie Jacobs, executive producer/director/co-showrunner of Fox’s House. B&C executive editor Melissa Grego will moderate.
“Women of Hollywood” is an afternoon networking cocktail hour featuring candid Q&As with top female figures from the TV, media and entertainment industry. The off-the-record event is set for 3-6 pm on Nov. 15. It will begin with an hour from 3-4 p.m. of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a Beauty Bar sponsored by Entertainment Tonight. The two-hour speaker program runs from 4-6. Sponsors also include E!, Style and HSN.
The 2nd annual “Women of Hollywood” follows its successful launch in summer 2010, when Disney/ABC’s Anne Sweeney, CBS’ Nina Tassler and Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice‘s Shonda Rhimes were among the speakers. B&C then launched an East Coast version in April 2011 with “Women of New York,” which featured Rachael Ray, Glenn Close, Madison Avenue greats Peggy Green and Pam Zucker; AMC Networks’ Arlene Manos and a roundtable of top players in the broadcasting world: Gayle King, Maria Bartiromo and Erin Andrews.
