Addmired Brings More Mayhem and Action With Industry-First Features in Blockbuster iMob 2

January 26, 2012

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Addmired, a highly successful Silicon Valley mobile social games start up, today released iMob 2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This eagerly anticipated social MMO RPG sequel to iMob, the original and one of the most popular free MMO games on iOS, introduces an industry-first online chat system along with new storylines, expanded communities, engrossing game play, and intense PvP action (player vs player).

The in-game Chat System developed by Addmired is the most sophisticated chat, messaging and bulletin system of its kind available in any mobile game. Players can strategize attacks and socialize with their Mob, Family, Alliance, Clans, Groups, Contact lists, and the entire world. The system robustly handles chat and messaging activity of tens of millions of players across several billion friendships within games, instantaneously and reliably. Players also can play several mini-games in chat, and play and share YouTube videos with their friends while remaining in game.

“The community drives the experience and engagement in our games,” explains CEO Gabriel Leydon. “With iMob 2, we focused on the right balance between gameplay and a vibrant in-game community that highly engages players over very long periods of time. From a new immersive story line, special items and casino games to expanded chat, alliances, and rankings, players are connected, engaged, valued, and entertained when they play in our shared world.”

iMob 2 is the most social and connected game yet on mobile with not only chat but also new, highly engaging in-game communities, messaging, and bulletins. Players vie to be the top boss of their online Family, Mob, and ultimately, tens of millions of players in the iMob world. Everything is built on “prestige,” which can only be earned by forming Family and Alliances and destroying enemies. Players can build massive mobs with friends and arm them with the most powerful weapons, gear, vehicles and loot. The game also features new casino games-within-the-game in which players earn tickets to use for cash, chips or to upgrade to more powerful weapons.

The original iMob launched in January 2009, and within the first 36 weeks had more than 6.5 million downloads during the early days of the iOS platform, a stunning accomplishment. It was the first true mobile MMO RPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) and first free-to-play game built for the iPhone and iPod touch with the most intense and fast PvP game play. iMob was also the first of its kind to include in-game messaging and bulletins. Three years later, iMob has several hundred thousand monthly active players, and the franchise is projected to grow exponentially with iMob 2.

iMob2 is available today for free on the App store for iOS 3.0 and later. This is an online game; users must have an active internet connection via either 3G or WiFi.
