ShowStoppers® Schedules Playdate with the Mobile Revolution at Sandbox Summit @ MIT
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — ShowStoppers® is scheduling a playdate with the mobile revolution for educators, researchers, parents, game and toy designers, developers of educational software, app developers, pioneers in media and entertainment technology, and journalists.
The global leader in press and business events in the United States, Europe, Japan and India today announced an agreement to produce a new product showcase where play and technology meet–at the third annual Sandbox Summit @ MIT.
ShowStoppers will organize hands-on product introductions, previews and demonstrations for attendees registered for the two-day Sandbox Summit conference, which runs April 17 and 18 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. The ShowStoppers @ Sandbox Summit event is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, April 17.
This year’s Sandbox Summit, Going Mobile, Going Global, focuses on how the mobile revolution changes the tools and rules of play. High-energy presentations from industry leaders and original research will be presented each morning. Interactive workshops take place both afternoons.
“From the invention of the wheel to the swipe of a screen, technology continues to change how children play, learn, and communicate,” said Claire Green, cofounder of Sandbox Summit. “Our partnership with MIT’s Education Arcade keeps us at the forefront of new ideas, and spotlights the anytime/anywhere playful learning that technology offers.”
Sandbox Summit cofounder Wendy Smolen said: “Our new partnership with ShowStoppers means our audience can actually play with some of the most exciting products coming to market. It’s an amazing opportunity for both journalists and attendees to see where the industry is headed.”
“Sandbox Summit gives industry leaders, innovators and startups a unique stage to shake hands with the chief technology officers of the future,” said Steve Leon, partner, ShowStoppers.

About Sandbox Summit
Sandbox Summit is a series of conferences designed to address how technology is changing the ways kids play, learn, and connect. Founded by Claire Green and Wendy Smolen, the goal of Sandbox Summit is to ensure that the next generation of players becomes active innovators rather than passive consumers of technology. Through high-energy panels, innovative demonstrations, original research, and thought-provoking discussions with industry leaders, analysts, journalists, educators and parents, each Summit strategically intermingles disciplines and viewpoints to bring fresh ideas to every event and never talk to a room full of nodding heads.
Now in its 20th year, ShowStoppers is the global leader in producing press and business events spanning the US, Europe, Japan and India. Each event organizes product introductions, sneak previews and demonstrations for selected journalists, bloggers, industry and financial analysts, venture capitalists and business executives. Industry leaders, innovators and startups exhibit to help generate news coverage and product reviews, make new connections, promote brand, and open new markets. ShowStoppers produces events at CES, CTIA and Mobile World Congress, among others, and the official press event at IFA, the global tradeshow in Berlin for consumer electronics and home appliances that inspires people and moves markets. ShowStoppers partners with CEATEC JAPAN, the annual technology tradefair in Tokyo, and is the official US sales partner of Convergence India, the 20th edition of the largest information and communications technology tradeshow in South Asia.
